AI Could Provide You with the Most Valuable Commodity of All

Discover how AI can free up precious hours for strategy, decision-making and hiking.

Humans have benefited from technology since the Industrial Revolution. We've significantly improved manufacturing practices, modes of transport, sanitation and more through new discoveries and inventions, leading to a higher quality of life. Across the centuries, we've seen the pace of innovation increase across multiple industries, changing the way we do things. Our food stays longer in fridges, meaning fewer trips to the shops. The internet has revolutionised access to information, putting vast libraries of knowledge at our fingertips. Now, we can order a ride through our mobiles with the tap of a single button. While the technology itself is undoubtedly remarkable, the true value of technology lies within the user.

What did they do with the time they saved?

Today's technological advancement is undoubtedly AI. A quick scroll through LinkedIn shows that it's a hot topic - does it work, what is AI, and will AI replace my job? In the realm of bidding, AI is making significant inroads, promising to revolutionise the often tedious drafting process. And it's doing a good job at it. Bid teams already leveraging AI tools are now generating paragraphs with the click of a button, transforming their review processes because they're getting their first drafts completed faster.  What A.I really delivers you is time.

The reality is that AI adoption in tendering is rapidly becoming ever-present. Your competitors are likely already using AI tools to enhance their processes and submissions. It's also not far-fetched to anticipate that clients will soon mandate the use of AI, driven by the significant productivity gains and consistency of submissions they've seen. However as AI levels the playing fields in terms of efficiency, the true differentiator will emerge in how teams utilise the time saved

Here are are few ideas:

  • More Downtime:

First and foremost, let's remember that bid writers are indeed human. Despite their seemingly superhuman ability to churn out proposals, they also need time to recharge and engage in live outside of work. Getting to first draft faster means no more cancelling weekend plans (yes, go on that hike!) and late nights frantically piecing together sentences.

  • Faster Alignment:

They say decisions are only as good as the information they are based on. It’s alarming to think that key decisions worth millions of dollars are often made based on bullet points and slides with hastily assembled ideas. By getting to the first draft faster, teams can share complete, detailed submissions with reviewers earlier for thorough review and alignment across the company. Clients will appreciate the sweat and attention to detail that goes into polishing a submission, boosting its chances of winning the project.

  •  Alternate Win Strategies:

Today, bid leaders are forced to shortlist their win themes early due to time constraints. With AI, this will change. Teams will be able to generate multiple versions of the first draft, each featuring different win themes, in the time it currently takes to draft just one. This then allows teams to select the most compelling submission that solves the client’s hot-buttons, completely changing the playing field.

AI isn't the real game-changer, what you do with the time you gain back is.
